Daniel Balima is a senior horticulturalist from Tenkodogo, a small village in Burkina Faso. Daniel fell ill with polio as a child and despite growing up without using his legs, he managed to follow his father in the family nursery, walking on his hands alone. For over fifty years, he has given life to more than a million trees to contribute to the fight against desertification in the Sahel.
