For millennia, cultures from around the world have looked to nature to treat various ailments. Mandë Holford, chemical biologist at the American Museum of Natural History, travels to the shores of Papua New Guinea, Madagascar and Panama to collect snails, whose venom could kill people in minutes, in her quest to fight diseases such as cancer, HIV and diabetes.
